Music Programme

We are now taking applications for music lessons in 2025-2026 academic year. Places are allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.

Fees per year

  • Instrumental Tuition: €990.00 per instrument
  • Deposit of €150.00 due on 2 May 2025, remainder payable in two termly instalments of €420.00 each, due on 1 September 2025, and 5 January 2026.
  • Students will receive 18 hours of tuition (27 lessons) during the year.

Applications

  • Applications will only be accepted from students who are enrolled in Villiers School.
  • Applications should be made using the deposit payment link below, prior to 2 May 2025 in advance of the next academic year.
  • Instruments taught will depend on the availability of qualified teachers. At this time, we are confident that we will be able to provide instrumental lessons in piano, violin, guitar and voice, but we hope to offer a wider range of instruments if there is interest. If your preferred instrument is not included in the drop down menu, please select other and name your preferred instrument.
  • Students may not receive confirmation of availability of lessons in their chosen instrument before September, but we will endeavour to confirm in advance if possible.
  • We will endeavour to find teaching places for late applicants, but this cannot be guaranteed.
  • Students must reapply each year and placed are allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.

Lessons

  • Lessons are mostly taught during school hours and every effort is made to reduce disruption to academic work. Some teachers may be able to offer lessons before or after school, or on Saturdays, but this cannot be guaranteed and depends on the individual teacher.
  • Students are excused from one academic class per week on a rotational basis, i.e. a student will not miss the same class each week, to attend instrument lessons. Students are responsible to catch-up on any work missed.
  • Notice of each music lesson is given in advance by way of a posted timetable and a Microsoft Teams notification.
  • Students are required to check their lesson time each week.
  • Lessons missed by the student will not be made up and will be charged for.
  • If an instrumental teacher is absent from the school, they will reschedule their lesson with the student.
  • Classroom teachers are notified of the student’s absence from class through Tyro.
  • Our instrumental teachers will make every effort to be as flexible as possible. Students can communicate with instrumental teachers through Microsoft Teams App to make a request to reschedule. All messages to and from teachers and students should be within working hours where possible.

Cancellation of Lessons

  • Cancellation of lessons must be given in writing to the school office info@villiers-school.com at least six weeks in advance. Fees are payable in full during this six-week period.

Multiple Applications

  • To apply for more than one instrument, you must complete a new deposit payment link for each instrument. Students may be limited in the number of instrumental lessons they may partake in weekly, to minimise disruption to their academic work.

Insurance

  • The school does not insure privately owned instruments. Parents and guardians are strongly advised to make sure that they have adequate insurance cover.
  • The school does not accept responsibility for instruments damaged or stolen.
